The "Weed Alert" feature is unique to our
Electric Fence Companion.

All electric fence installations are subject to voltage drops
from weeds, brush, and other debris will partially short
out your fence and cause a loss of fence. This will cause a
significant loss of effectiveness of your electric fence.

Weeds, brush, tall grass, and tree limbs are all
voltage thieves,
especially when wet.

They rob your electric fence of voltage,
reducing the effectiveness.

STOP! the voltage thieves,
while your fence is still workable.

The Electric Fence Companion is the only Electric Fence Monitor that has this additional voltage level "set point" (adjustable) that will provide an alert when the voltage drops below this "set point" voltage, to alert you that the fence voltage has dropped and it is time to perform maintenance and cut the grass and weeds, and clear the debris from the fence, to keep the fence at maximum effectiveness

The most common usage is to adjust the "Weed Alert" set point to a level approximately 1,000 to 2,000 volts less than the output voltage from the fence charger/energizer that you are using to provide voltage to your electric fence. This alerts you before the fence loses its effectiveness.
